Booked the flight before I had a real reason to.Solo doesn't mean alone.Got lost. Didn't fix it right away. The best meal so far had no menu.Every city looks different before 7am.Came for the landmark, stayed for the block behind it.Still learning the camera. Bringing it anyway.Always make time for a sunset.Walk everywhere, snack constantly.Friends make the best itinerary.Booked the flight before I had a real reason to.Solo doesn't mean alone.Got lost. The workhorse. A fixed 23mm lens forces a simpler way of shooting, and the color science is good enough straight out of camera that editing is barely necessary.

How I carry it
Bags
Carry-on
Carry-on Suitcase
Cabin size · Hard or soft shell
A standard carry-on that fits in the overhead bin. Clothes, shoes, and anything that doesn't need to be within reach during the day. Currently scoping an upgrade - this may change.
Day bag · Personal item
Nordace Siena Pro 17
Backpack · ~20L
Goes everywhere with me on travel days and every day of exploring. Fits the camera body, a water bottle, laptop, and a full day's worth of stuff. The dedicated camera compartment is the reason this bag works so well.
03
Camera extras
Camera Accessories
Storage · Photos
SD Card · 256GB V30
The main card. 256GB is enough headroom to shoot freely for a full trip without stressing about space.
Storage · Photos
SD Card · 128GB V30
The backup card. Swapped in when the 256GB fills up, or kept separate on longer trips so everything isn't on one card.
Transfer
SD Card Reader
USB-C
Offloads photos to the MacBook each evening. Fast read speeds matter when you're moving a lot of files.
Carry
Peak Design City Sling (2L)
For days when the full backpack is overkill. Just enough room for the camera and the essentials, worn across the body and out of the way.
Power
Batteries ×4
1× Fujifilm · 3× third-party
Four batteries total. The Fujifilm one is the main battery, three third-party backups. A full shooting day can burn through more than one, so extras stay in the bag at all times.
Power
Battery Charger
Single slot
Charges one battery at a time overnight. Not the fastest way to top off the whole kit, but simple and reliable.

Everything else
Tech & Travel Essentials
Tech
MacBook
For offloading cards, editing photos and footage, and staying on top of anything work-related on longer trips.
Tech
AirPods
Flights, trains, editing on the go. ANC makes a long-haul feel manageable. Never travel without them.
Power
Universal Travel Adapter
Works in most countries. The one thing you really cannot forget on an international trip - everything else can be bought locally.
Power
Power Bank
For long travel days and anywhere the outlet situation is uncertain. Keeps the phone and AirPods topped up on the move.
Hydration
Hydro Flask
Keeps water cold all day - matters more than you'd think when you're walking 20,000 steps in the heat. Refill at airports to skip the plastic bottles.
Protection
Backpack Rain Cover
Slips over the Nordace when it starts raining. Camera gear, MacBook, and everything else stays dry. Lives at the bottom of the bag.
Sleep
Sleep Mask
Overnight flights and hostel rooms with thin curtains. Small and weightless - genuinely one of the better quality-of-life items to bring.
Security
Padlock
For hostel lockers. Most hostels provide lockers but not locks - bring your own and you're covered anywhere.
